Terms of service
Last updated: Draft of 18 October 2026
In short
Use HEIP to protect your own services. Don't use it to attack, probe or test against others. Pay on time. We'll run the service carefully and tell you when things change.
1.Agreement and who can use HEIP
These terms are an agreement between you and [Company legal name]. HEIP is for businesses only. Access is approved individually.
2.Accounts and access
- Accounts are approved individually.
- You are responsible for your team, their access, and everything done with your keys.
- Keep your secret key secret and on your server. Tell us straight away if you think it has leaked.
3.Acceptable use
Use HEIP only on websites and apps you operate, or that you are authorised to protect.
4.Prohibited use
You must not:
- probe, benchmark or train automation to evade HEIP, or help anyone else do so;
- reverse engineer the SDK or the service for that purpose [balance with local law; confirm with counsel];
- resell access to HEIP without our written agreement;
- use HEIP to identify, profile or track individuals;
- use HEIP in a way that breaks privacy law, including by not informing your users where the law requires it.
5.Your obligations to your users
You are responsible for telling your users about HEIP in your privacy notice, for obtaining consent where the law requires it, and for having a lawful basis for using it.
6.Abuse prevention
We may rate-limit traffic, or suspend keys or accounts, to stop abuse of HEIP or of other customers. We will give notice where we reasonably can.
7.Decisions are advisory
HEIP gives a probabilistic assessment. You decide what to do with it, and you remain responsible for your actions toward your users.
8.Service availability
We provide the service on a best-effort basis unless we have signed a service level agreement with you. We give advance notice of planned maintenance where we can.
9.Changes to the service and API
The API is versioned. Breaking changes get a new version, and we give notice before an old version is retired: [deprecation notice period]. See the developer overview.
10.Fees and payment
Fees, billing period and payment terms are those in your order form or agreement. Prices are exclusive of taxes. [late payment, and notice for price changes].
11.Data protection
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data. Where we process personal data on your behalf, our data processing agreement applies: [DPA, to be drafted].
12.Confidentiality
Each of us will keep the other's confidential information confidential, including anything we share about how HEIP's detection works. [full clause]
13.Intellectual property
We own HEIP, including the SDKs and the service. You own your data. If you give us feedback, we may use it to improve HEIP without obligation to you.
14.Warranties and disclaimers
[warranties and disclaimers; to be drafted by counsel]
15.Limitation of liability
[liability cap, for example fees paid in the previous 12 months, and exclusions]
16.Indemnity
[indemnity clause; to be drafted by counsel]
17.Suspension and termination
Either of us may end the agreement as set out in your order form. When it ends, we delete your data within [deletion timeline]. Clauses that by their nature should continue, such as confidentiality and liability, survive.
18.Governing law and disputes
[governing law and courts]
19.Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page and tell customers before significant changes take effect.
20.Contact
[Company legal name], [registered address]. Email: [legal@ contact address].
